Joe Pojman, executive director for the Texas Alliance for Life, an anti-abortion group, said reproductive rights groups were “crying wolf” about the potential impacts on women. He said the costs would likely be minimal and partly why his group was suggesting abortion providers absorb the cost out of compassion for patients. He said the proposed rule was not about families being forced to have funerals.

“We’re talking about the difference between a landfill or cemetery for the final disposition of ashes,” Pojman said.

Joe Pojman, executive director of Texas Alliance for Life, said the organization endorsed Romney in 2012 and McCain in 2008 but that its 16-member board has not made a 2016 presidential endorsement.

“As of right now, they have not decided to release anything,” Pojman said. “We do have our online voter guide up for all of the other endorsements we’ve made, but we’re not listing anything on that race at this time.”

No board member has contributed to Trump’s campaign, according to OpenSecrets.org, which tracks federal campaign contributions.
