Joe Pojman, executive director of Texas Alliance for Life, said the organization endorsed Romney in 2012 and McCain in 2008 but that its 16-member board has not made a 2016 presidential endorsement.

“As of right now, they have not decided to release anything,” Pojman said. “We do have our online voter guide up for all of the other endorsements we’ve made, but we’re not listing anything on that race at this time.”

No board member has contributed to Trump’s campaign, according to OpenSecrets.org, which tracks federal campaign contributions.

Joe Pojman, Texas Alliance for Life’s executive director, told the Observer that his group is concerned with getting solid “pro-life” legislation on the books. They back laws that will stand up to the inevitable legal challenges that have defined the abortion conversation over the past three Lege sessions.

“Whole Woman’s Health and Planned Parenthood want the public to believe that abortion facilities are safe for women. A rusty suction machine, faulty sterilizing fluid, a faulty sterilization machine, holes in the floor exposing the facility to rodents, expired and unlabeled medication, and absent or poorly trained nursing staff contradict the abortion industry’s rhetoric,” said Joe Pojman, Ph.D., executive director of Texas Alliance for Life. “No woman should be exposed to such horrendous conditions. Women deserve better.”

“My record speaks for itself, regardless of the spin or the lies told in this race — I remain true to the values of Bryan-College Station,” Raney said, reading off a list of endorsements from conservative groups including the National Rifle Association, Texas Alliance for Life and Texans for Lawsuit reform.

The foundation says Straus in 2005 and 2007 received 100 percent NARAL ratings. To the contrary, Straus got a 45 percent “pro-choice” NARAL rating in 2005. And while he got that “100” in 2007, that result was based entirely on the group concluding that Straus sided with it on a budget amendment when, records show, he was absent from the scored vote. On balance, we rate this claim Mostly False.
